Own Words is a study app. You write your answer from memory before you see the prepared one, then mark which points you recalled.

Manage or cancel a subscription

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. On your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Own Words, then cancel or change the plan.

Restore purchases

In the app, open Settings and tap Restore purchases. You can also tap Restore on the subscription screen. It works with the Apple Account you bought with.

Does it work offline?

Studying, importing and exporting work with no network. Explain, Simpler, Ask and Generate need a connection.

What is free and what is paid?

Studying is free. Your first three generated decks are free. After that, Generate, Explain, Simpler and Ask need an Own Words Pro subscription.

What is sent when I use Explain, Simpler, Ask or Generate?

Only after you allow it and press the button. Explain, Simpler and Ask send the card and what you typed. Generate sends your topic or pasted text. See the privacy policy for details.

What happens to my cards if I delete my account?

Your account and its subscription link are removed. Cards on your phone stay.
